Testimony from Thailand; He is faithful!

BY Johanna Biebly, Young Peoples DTS 2009

In Thailand, God really taught me how to trust Him. While in Thailand God used me and my team to do a lot in the unseen. We planted a lot of seed and brought Jesus to places He has never been before. In many situations our humanity failed us and we would have to completely rely on God. I always saw God come through. He was faithful every time to give me wisdom on what to do and to take away my fear. I remember one time when we went down to Patong to do ministry in the bars, and suddenly this overwhelming fear came over me. Immediately I asked my teammates to pray for me and God was faithful to take away the fear completely! He even filled me with joy and excitement for what He was going to do through us that night. The rest of the night I was not afraid once, not even for a second. God is so good! He really showed me and the rest of the Thailand team how faithful and good he is, even in the smallest things.

Drunken Man Healed.

BY HANNAH CARISTO, ATW DTS SPRING 2009

There are so many ways and so many stories to say that will show how amazing God is. On my Discipleship Training School (DTS) we travelled all over the world starting in San Francisco, then went to Tokyo, India, South Africa, Mozambique, Brazil and Colombia. It was an amazing trip in which God taught me so much and allowed me to grow closer to him.

For me Mozambique was probably my favorite place. Our team became a family and God really opened my eyes to things that I never thought I would see. On one of our ministry nights we went out into the city of Dondo and served the community. We set up worship and had our dramas and testimonies prepared. The night started off great with two hours of worship and praising God and His presence was so amazing. After my leader spoke to the community he made and alter call and four people came forward and straight away this old drunk man walked towards me crying. I felt led to pray for him so after Jacob led them in prayer I continued to pray for this man. God kept stirring it in my spirit, and I really felt like something big was going to happen to this man he said he didn't want to drink anymore. We stopped praying and I got a few more people to pray with me again. Five minutes went by and I was getting annoyed with God. I asked Him, "Please, please heal him, God, so that he will know you are real". God spoke to me and said, "Just wait". I was getting impatient. About 10 minutes had gone by and we finally finished praying. He was still drunk and crying but he was thankful with tears of joy. As he walked away into the distance I was upset and my heart was hurting for this man as he was an alcoholic and so was my mom, so I had a huge heart for this man to be healed. As I watched him walk away I began to cry and ask God why. "Why couldn't you heal him?" and then again He said, "Just wait". As I said a short prayer and said "Amen," the drunken man stood frozen, just standing there. I wasn't sure if he was going to turn around and run at me or fall to the ground. Then all of a sudden he unexpectedly broke out into dance; he raised his hands and was shouting, "JESUS, JESUS!" Three of God's angels surrounded him and God spoke to me saying, "He is healed," and as he danced with he went into the distance where I knew that he would be safe. It was a special moment for me where I really felt Gods presence and just being patient and waiting on him showed me that if I wait and listen to him then He will do His mighty works.
