The weeks are winding up for our outreach teams, but each of them keep supplying us with more and more beautiful stories of what God is doing in their midst.
This last week, our team in Haiti had lots of opportunities to minister to the people through practical means; cleaning up trash in a tent city where 280 families live, and even walking around the community where they live and asking if the families needed help with anything in their homes or businesses. This group of white foreigners successfully confused and blessed the people they helped, and were able to pray for many of them, watching God meet their lives in crazy ways. They will be heading to the mountains for a few days of ministry before they return back to Denver in a few weeks.
Our Brazil team had a ridiculous time in Padrao de Cocais; they teamed up with other existing ministries to share the love of their Lord and saw several people come to know Christ! They are soon to leave for Rio de Janeiro for their last few weeks of outreach. Their prayer requests are for health and strength for their team in this last stretch - a few of them have been dealing with sickness, but they were all so energized to realize that in the last few weeks, over 600 people have come to know Jesus through their ministry!
Our troopers in Liberia are seeing God confront tough issues of poverty with so much kindness. They've been teaching children at a local school about hygiene and how to use latrines and toilet instead of going to the bathroom on the street - some of the kids are so excited to use them that they wait in line even when they don't have to go. The team also visited a hospital this last week, where they prayed for a little girl in a coma with malaria and pneumonia. Over the past few days she has made a full recovery and is going home! Please pray that God would strengthen them as a team, for their physical health, and for their main contact, a young western man who does not know Jesus but has started loving coming to their worship times.
The Thailand team had a blast hosting English camps in several locations this last week, mostly playing games but having a primary focus of imparting value to each child. They were able to pray for them and speak into their lives. They are spending their last few weeks in Chang Mai, working with a group that ministers to children recovering from sexual abuse.
Our "Honduragua" team is currently in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and their ministry this past week was largely waiting on the Lord to see what ideas He had. Their entire team was able to go to a cancer ward at a local hospital to bring some hope and encouragement through music. They prayed for a man who was entirely paralyzed from the waist down, and before they left he could completely feel his legs and feet! They've also spent time doing intercession and evangelism all over the city, and going to the same prison a number of times to do ministry with inmates that are now their friends. Prayer requests are for unity in the team, and that these guys would really be like the wind, ready to go wherever the Holy Spirit leads.
